Computer-assisted translation (CAT) refers to computer-based tools that are designed to facilitate the translation process for human translators. These tools principally comprise terminology managers, translation memories and translator workbenches. Our translators have been working for the past five years with some of the leading CAT applications on the market. On the back of this experience, we are able to offer our clients tailor-made “translation memory” solutions that offer a number of advantages:

•  Proprietary databases of validated translations that provide a reliable linguistic and terminological reference source for subsequent translations.

•  A sharp improvement in the homogeneity of translations across departments and projects and the possibility of having large teams work on projects to optimise document turnaround times while maintaining terminological consistency.

•  The leveraging of past translations through the use of CAT applications and translation memories
